Brazilian Star Leaves Paris Saint-Germain after Six Years

Details of Neymar's Contract Transfer

August 15, 2023 (Reuters) - Neymar has signed a two-year contract with Saudi Arabia's Al-Hilal after six years with Paris Saint-Germain. The Brazilian forward is reportedly being paid a staggering 150 million euros ($129.2 million) per year in Saudi Arabia, six times the amount he earned at PSG.

The deal includes a transfer fee of 90 million euros that PSG will receive from Al-Hilal. The transfer fee comes as a significant boost for PSG, who have been eager to offload Neymar's hefty salary from their books.

Neymar's departure from PSG marks the end of an era for the French club. The Brazilian was the club's most expensive signing ever, joining from Barcelona for a world-record fee of 222 million euros in 2017. Neymar played a key role in PSG's domestic dominance, winning five Ligue 1 titles and a Coupe de France. However, he was unable to replicate his success in the Champions League, PSG's ultimate goal.

Neymar's move to Al-Hilal is a major coup for the Saudi club. The Brazilian will undoubtedly be the star attraction in the Saudi Pro League and is expected to help Al-Hilal challenge for both domestic and continental honors.
