DFB-Pokal: Bayern München trifft in der zweiten Runde auf Mainz 05

Record champions Bayern Munich will face Mainz 05 in the second round of the DFB Cup. The draw for the next round of the competition was held on Sunday evening, and the Bavarian giants were paired with the Bundesliga side.
The match will be played on either 18th or 19th October, with the exact date and time to be confirmed in due course. Bayern Munich will be looking to continue their dominance in the competition, having won the DFB Cup a record 20 times. Mainz 05, meanwhile, will be hoping to cause an upset and reach the third round of the competition for the first time since 2018.
The other standout tie of the second round sees Borussia Dortmund take on Hannover 96. The two sides have met twice in the DFB Cup before, with Dortmund winning on both occasions. However, Hannover will be hoping to make it third time lucky when they host the Bundesliga giants on either 18th or 19th October.
